A Faithful Love

Heavenly Father, most gracious King,
Your love you gave, to the cross I cling;
From death from darkness you brought me in;
May I not sin, may I not sin.

You are Lord of my eyes and what they may seek;
Lord of my mind and what it may know;
Lord of my hands and what they make;
Lord of my heart;
Lord of my strength.
You made me your child;
You brought me in;
May I not sin, may I not sin.

Oh Lord of my life; my shelter my rock;
Temptations grow stronger to flee from your flock.
My flesh grows so weary, and I begin to lose sight;
Get back o' darkness; how you come like the night!

The old man in me turns desperate with fear.
Your truth that I loved I can now scarcely hear.
My old ways become new ways; to the world I do cling;
Empty prayers and praises to you I now sing.

Heavenly Father, most Gracious King,
Your love you gave, to the cross I cling;
From death from darkness, you brought me in;
But look at my sin, look at my sin!

Heavenly Father, Lord of my life;
I have forsaken your love, and chosen this strife.
And yet in my sin I recall the great birth;
From Heaven you sent your Son to this earth.
O' precious Redeemer you had it all;
But humbled yourself to correct the fall.
From death from darkness, you brought us in;
You loved us so much that you became our sin.

Lying in darkness I feel myself slide;
By an unknown power through the air I do glide.
Attached to my body an odd thing I feel;
Some rope or a tether attached to my heal.
Through the air I fly faster, faster I fly;
The momentum draws from me a terrible cry.

As I begin to fear that I may die from this pace;
I realize that I've been bound by your grace.
A moment ago I was lying alone;
Then in a flash I find myself before your great throne!

Heavenly Father, most gracious King,
Your love you gave, to the cross I cling;
From sin from darkness, you bring me in;
Again and again, again and again.

My Lullaby

Precious baby in my arms;
Gift of God I pray no harm;
As you sleep throughout the night;
May your dreams be full of light.
